My cat hasn't eaten in almost two days,he is still drinking and using the washroom, how long should I wait? And what can I do at home if anything.

Something is definitely wrong if your cat isn't eating for two days. I wish there was more that we could recommend you do at home - although trying some warmed up canned food is a great idea - but there's an underlying reason why his appetite is so severely decreased and that needs to be discovered. As Dr. Pusateri said below, liver problems can result from prolonged periods without food, and liver problems can also CAUSE lack of appetite. Other things on the list that can cause lack of appetite - kidney problems, foreign bodies in the GI tract (pieces of string or toys), inflammatory bowel disease - the list is pretty long. The important thing is not to wait to see if it will get better - it's definitely abnormal behavior that more than likely has a medical cause. The sooner you can get him to the vet the sooner you can make him feel better.

If your cat has been anorexic for two days, he should be examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Cats with anorexia are prone to secondary liver problems from not eating. Your veterinarian can run lab work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and treat the problem. You could offer him different wet foods at home and warm them up in the microwave and see if you can get him to eat.
