My jack russell enjoys the occasional boiled egg. Is this doing him any harm? Maybe 1-3 eggs a month.

Hard boiled eggs really have no nutritional value for dogs unfortunately. The main concern with them is that they are high in calories. 1 hard boilied egg is about 78kcal. The recommendation for dogs is to give <10% of their total kcal per day devoted to treats. Since hard boiled eggs are considered a treat in this case, lets say your pet is around 15lbs. To calculate how many kilocalories per day he should eat the formula is:
15kcal/day OR 30 x wt (kg) + 70 .= approx 280kcalories per day, so 10% of this would be around 28kcal max should come from treats. Therefore the 1 egg is considered enough treats for 2 1/2 days. Now giving this in moderation at 1-3 eggs a month won't cause much harm, however just be mindful that other treats given along with eggs can exceed his limit and put him at risk for obesity. As a healthy alternative you could consider raw vegetables like carrots or cooked green beans.

Not unless he is allergic to eggs - boiled eggs occasionally should not cause him any problems.
