The whipworm life cycle is longer than other parasites and treatment can take months. It is recommended to treat initially at diagnosis, in 3 weeks then again at 3 months.
Withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. Continue feeding until the stool is normal. Transition slowly to the regular diet. If the diarrhea doesn’t stop, recheck with your veterinarian. Rule out other intestinal parasite infection, bacterial overgrowth, malabsorption/maldigestion issues or food allergies/sensitivities.

This could be a more severe and complicated condition, your dog will probably need further diagnostics such as blood tests and fecal examination in order to try and find out what is causing this, one of the most common conditions that could cause this symptom is IBD, which can be treated with special hypoallergenic food and steroids.
