Pup got neutered 5 days ago and had to wear an e-collar. He has managed to find a way to lick the stitches with the cone scraping the area. Help!

The E-collar must not be long enough. You could try to get a larger size or buy an inflatable one and see if that works better.

This could be a sign of excessive irritation from the sutures. Some pets are very sensitive to certain suture types. Hopefully the incision site is still intact (sealed) and there is no discharge there. If so, then I would highly recommend requesting a light sedative to be given to Pup during the rest of the healing process so that he doesn't pull the sutures out or cause further damage to the incision site before it has a chance to heal all the way. He is nearly at the end of the healing, which typically takes between 7-10 days.
I would still recommend keeping the e-collar on him because he will have free range once it is removed. Also you have the option of placing a diaper (pet diaper from local pet store) on him to help deter him from irritating his incision area. The diaper may need some reinforcement tape to ensure it stays on.
