My dog ate some grass that was just treated with fertilizer and possibly weed killer. Now she is panting pacing and stretching. Should we take her in
-
Yes, please take her in to a pet ER right away. Bring the box with the fertilizer ingredient list and the weed killer list with you.

First off, you need to check what products are in the fertilizer. Some may contain iron, which can result in iron poisoning, and less common types may contain very dangerous insecticides such as carbamates or organophosphates. Carbamates and organophosphates can result in more serious, life-threatening clinical signs such as drooling, vomiting, severe lethargy, and diarrhea. Weed killers routinely used on lawns and gardens have the potential to be toxic to your dog if ingested -- gastrointestinal upset, seizures and breathing problems are symptoms. Because the lawn had grass with both on it, I would err on the side of caution and take your dog into your vet right away.
