What it mean if a dog nose runs
-
It depends on what the discharge from the nose looks like. It is a greenish, yellow discharge, that can indicate a respiratory infection. A clear nasal discharge can indicate allergies. A nose discharge of mucus or pus could indicate your dog has a bacterial, fungal, or viral infection. A discharge from just one of your dog's nostrils is often a sign there's something stuck in that nostril, like a seed or blade of grass. Other signs include sneezing, pawing at the nose, and nosebleeds. A bloody nasal discharge can indicate a tumor. If your dog's discharge is clear, I would recommend taking Penny into the vet during normal opening hours to have her examined. If the discharge is bloody, pus, or a thick mucus, I would take her into your vet right away.
