My shih tzu threw up undigested food about 8 hours ago and now he just threw up pink foam. Should I be worried?

Throwing up undigested food can be a symptom of pancreatitis, GI illness, foreign body, or Clancy eating something rotten. I recommend monitoring him for now, and withhold food for the next 12 hours, then feeding him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he continues to vomit in the absence of food, vomits the bland diet, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, develops diarrhea, or becomes very lethargic, you need to take him into your vet immediately.

He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days.
After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food.
If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.
