My dog has been throwing up on a off for about 6 hours. He has been eating rawhide chips could that have something to do with him throwing up?

It could be related to this. I recommend withholding food for the next 12-24 hours, then feeding him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he continues to vomit in the absence of food, vomits the bland diet, stops drinking water, vomits water, develops diarrhea, or become very lethargic, you will need to take him into your vet right away as he may have a serious illness.

Yes it can. Rawhide chips can be hard to digest for some pets and they have the potential to become lodged in the intestines. Withhold food for about 12-24 hrs and then try to reintroduce food slowly to your pet. A bland diet of boiled chicken and rice or cottage cheese can be tried. However If he is still vomiting and lethargic it is best to get him seen by your veterinarian for tests to ensure he doesn't have a blockage of his intestines. If he is deemed clear of that then the vet can prescribed medications to help his stomach upset.

Yes, it could be related to this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days.
After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food.
If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.
