My dog keeps licking front left paw. It seems a little red but no cuts or foreign objects. He walks fine. What could it be and how can I treat it?

• Higgins started making the awful crunch noise this past November. He’s only making it when he’s sleepy, sleeping, or waking up. • My cat has had digestive issues since I adopted her 2 months ago.
