My pet has ear inflammation. Have used ZYMOX ear solution. Not sure if ear is badly infected. It does't appear to be. Any further recommendations?

There are many causes of ear inflammation including foreign bodies, allergies, mites, infections, polyps and generalised skin problems. If the ear has not improved with zymox, is painful to the touch/when scratching, smells or is red/swollen you should get a full skin and ear exam by your vet to identify the underlying tirgger and treat as appropriate

The best way to know if it is infected is to have a vet look at him and peform an otic exam. Your vet can look at any discharge under a microscope and determine if there is a bacterial infection, yeast infection, or ear mites and then prescribe the best medication to treat the condition.

Zymox does not always solve the problem, if you do not see any improvement within 3-4 days of treatment, I would recommend taking Toffee to the vet to have the ear checked and treated with an antibiotic eardrops.
