My dog all of a sudden is licking all the corners in my house and the floor too! What does that mean?!

This type of behaviour can be complex to investigate and address. Some dogs will lick excessively as part of a learned behaviour (for example if there are small children at home and food is regularly dropped on the floor and there is food residue), some will lick excessively as part of an anxiety, or compulsive behaviour. Licking can also be a sign of nausea. It is important to try and determine whether or not your dog is simply licking or if he is actively trying to ingest dirt or paint or other material of non nutritional value - this process is known as pica. I would recommend making an appointment with your veterinarian to rule out any physiological causes for this behaviour, they will take a full medical history, perform a physical examination, including a neurologic examination, and may even suggest blood tests to rule out any systemic disease processes causes this symptom and causes for nausea. Do make sure that your floor is free of cleaning products and their residue as they may be toxic if ingested.

My dog had an infected sebaceous cyst for months, and an abscess near it too. I took him to 4 veterinarians and each prescribed antibiotics. None of all helped my little buddy, and he didn't get better at all. I did labs for him few days ago for culture and sensitivity of pus and a doctor prescribed meropenem SQ 500mg every 12 hours. Should I give him this antibiotic?? Is subcutaneous route safe and good?? Should I drain the abscess ?? What else I should do while on antibiotic ?? Please help me

My 12-year-old female Cocker has always been calm but now is deaf and recently had a bad UTI. She’s on antibiotics and thyroid medication and has dry eye, for which I put an ointment in her eyes. She used to sleep next to me but now prefers the floor, and it feels like she wants to be alone. Her water intake and appetite are good, but she just watches my husband give dental bones to the other dogs instead of participating. She does go up and down the stairs much slower.

Higgins started making the awful crunch noise this past November. He’s only making it when he’s sleepy, sleeping, or waking up. I thought it was teeth grinding but to be safe I brought him to the vet and they checked his teeth, said he has a little bit of plaque but over all looked good. I asked the doctor what she thought the noise was and she said it’s probably just him adjusting his jaw. I discovered my dog drinking out of a bucket of really gross dark green water outside. He was throwing up for a few days. I’ve since removed the bucket of water and he’s stopped throwing up. I am concerned however if he needs antibiotics or something in case there was a bacteria or parasite in the bucket of water. If he does I will call the vet and see what can be done but I’m limited on money right now so I’m asking here if an antibiotic is recommended?

dog surgery question. I have a miscellaneous items fee on my estimate and they said it's $900 and it will cover "injectables" that they will break down after the surgery. Hello, my name is Christine My two dogs ate a foam ball, like a quarter size of it actually. I called my vet and he said to give them some Hydro peroxide. I did and they threw up. I tried calling him back to see if there was anything else I needed to do or lookout for, but no one seems to pick up. Is everything going to be OK with my dogs?
