My cat is scratching her ears so much they are scabbing and fur is falling out. They are also very dirty even with repeated cleaning. The wax is dark brown. Vet says its not ear mites or an infection. What else could be causing this?

• Hi my cat was in a car accident and suffered a grade 2 tall pull injury and had his tail amputated after a couple weeks as it did not regain function. He has since had a constipation.
