My dog (a toy poodle x Maltese shih tzu) is currently shaking non- stop. I have covered him with a blanket, tried to feed him different foods, thrown around toys, held him and comforted him but he doesn't move or stop shaking. What does this mean?

• Higgins started making the awful crunch noise this past November. He’s only making it when he’s sleepy, sleeping, or waking up. I thought it was teeth grinding but to be safe I brought him to the vet and they checked his teeth, said he has a little bit of plaque but over all looked good.
