There are no indications on my dog of ring worm.but when she licks my arm etc I get an obvious ring worm mark. So i think maybe she is a carrier. Can she be treated and not be a carrier any more ?

Treatment with oral antifungals will help treat any fungal growth that Marina is carrying. Speak to your veterinarian about obtaining a suitable prescription.

If the mark fades, it is likely not ringworm (which is actually a type of fungal infection). You are likely sensitive to her saliva. Check with your personal physician to diagnose allergies or sensitivities.

In most cases, ring worm (dermatophytosis) is treated in dogs with a cream or spray on the affected area of the body. So, in order to treat your dog without actually seeing the lesion would be difficult unless you want to spray or apply cream to her entire body, which I do not advocate. I am obviously not a physician so I can't offer you any advise as far as health goes for your own body. I can offer some general advise, however. If you are seeing lesions in areas where your dog is licking you, if I were in your shoes I would seek out a dermatologist to see if it is some sort of allergic reaction to the enzymes in the dog's saliva. I would also imagine that human dermatologists are able to perform a dermatophyte culture to determine with certainty if ringworm is the culprit. In terms of treatment for dogs, the drug of choice is typically miconazole.
