Hi, my daughters 8month lab cross has swallowed whole a wooden skewer of meat. This happened 7 hours plus ago. The vet told her to feed him bland food but I have serious concerns having read that dogs can't digest, or break down, wood. Please can you advise?

• Higgins started making the awful crunch noise this past November. He’s only making it when he’s sleepy, sleeping, or waking up. I thought it was teeth grinding but to be safe I brought him to the vet and they checked his teeth, said he has a little bit of plaque but over all looked good.
