I am trying to find a healthy , natural dog food for my dog , he is a 75lb coon dog , he's been on blue buffalo for some time now, he eats very little of it every day , I recently have been looking into other good dig foods , my friend feeds her dog Bill Jac dog food , she gave me some to try and my dog seemed to love it , but I was reading the ingredients and it states that they use 5kbs of chicken to make a 6lb bag , but it also says that they only use the chickens organs for it ! Chicken by-products include organs and anything left over after the prime cuts have been removed. It does not include feathers. Many companies use by-products because it is mor economical. There are better and worse diets on the market. That said, if Max eats it, does well on it and it is easy for you to buy then it can be fed. Acana, Orijen and Canidae are examples of premium diets with high quality ingredients. I would not recommend blue buffalo as I have seen some negative side effects of their urine. One of my favorite more natural foods that dogs seem to like is natural balance limited ingredient diets. They have a lot of flavors. I hope this helps.
