What's the youngest age you can treat kittens for fleas? And what method would be the safest and most effective?

Hi and thanks for using PetCoach! Usually the youngest most products can be used is about 8 weeks of age or older. Very young kittens (under this age) can be sprayed with Frontline spray and I would follow the directions very closely. This product is safe in pediatric kittens and puppies. Here is a list of the various products out there. You could look up a particular product by going to the manufacturers site to find out specific age recommendations since they do vary depending on the product used. Just Google the product name and look for the manufacturer.
Elimination of fleas on pets can be achieved through use of available flea adulticides that are highly effective for killing adult fleas, including: Activyl® (Indoxacarb): cats (monthly topical spot-on) Advantage II® (Imidacloprid): cats (monthly topical spot-on) Bravecto® (Fluralaner): cats (every 3 months topical) Capstar® (Nitenpyram): cats (daily or as-needed oral) Comfortis® (Spinosad): cats (monthly oral) Frontline® (Fipronil): cats (monthly topical spot-on or spray) Revolution® (Selamectin): cats (monthly topical spot-on) Seresto® (Synthetic pyrethroids (flumethrin and imidacloprid)): Cats (8-month collar) Vectra® (Dinotefuran): cats (monthly topical spot-on)
Good luck!
