I have a kitten that is about 1 month old. She loves wet cat food. Is that too much for her?

Coco is such a cutie! Wet cat food is a great choice for kittens. If she's eating it well, growing and having normal stools, then I wouldn't change anything. As she becomes an adult you can keep her on wet food, but I would recommend measuring it so that she maintains a normal weight. Congratulations on your new little one!

Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach! Wet cat food is ok to feed your kitten. I actually recommend starting with canned food with kittens as I find it much easier for them to eat with their small teeth. Once they are a bit older and bigger, I then recommend switching to a hard food as I do believe (to a certain extent) that eating hard food helps reduce tartar formation on the teeth. I would feed a kitten food until about 12 months and follow the feeding instructions on the can of food or back of the kitten food as this will give you an accurate measured amount to feed based on age and weight. I hope this helps! I do recommend Science Diet and Royal Canin as my food choices. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via phone or text based consultation if needed.
