My dog ate 12 hours ago my mom's expired liver pills, and she told me just now about it!! She says that the medicine was called Epalit. I am very concerned, what should I do? Is there any danger?

I'm sorry to hear that! We would love to help; however I cannot find any medication with the name Epalit. Is there a way you can verify the name of the medication that she got into? I'm not sure if there was a typo perhaps? Also, please let us know the milligrams of the mediation and about how many there were. We can better advise you then!
The other option would be for you to call the ASPCA poison control center with that information. They will be able to give you a very clear, very definitive knowledge of whether or not this is problematic, what to expect, and whether or not to go to the vet. There is a $65 charge, but their information is extremely valuable and we, as veterinarians, use their toxicologists advice and knowledge on these cases all the time.
Since its been 12 hours, there's really not going to be a benefit to inducing vomiting, as the pills would have already gone through her stomach. Most toxicities will lead to clinical signs in the first 24 hours, but some substances can take up to a few days to see signs. If she starts to have any vomiting, diarrhea, tremoring, seizures, changes in her breathing, lethargy, or won't eat take her in to your vet.
I hope thats helpful for you! Thank you for using PetCoach!
