My 8month old cat got a fracture on its hind leg that didn't puncture through the skin. The vet put a splint on it and said he would need surgery or amputation. It's not fractured on a joint or anything. I feel the vet is just frying to get money, won't the bone heal on its own with the splint

• I discovered my dog drinking out of a bucket of really gross dark green water outside. He was throwing up for a few days. I’ve since removed the bucket of water and he’s stopped throwing up.
