Throwing up and black diarrhea
-
Hi, Black Diarrhea is what we call Malena, typically occurs due to a bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Malena (especially when presented with vomting) can be a sign of an underlying condition such as a GI ulcer, GI infections, Foreign body in the GI tract, Addison's disease, kidney failure and tumors of the upper GI tract. This is why I would highly recommend to take her to the vet ASAP for thorough examination and to start diagnosis and supportive treatment. If the dog is taking any medication such as NSAID pain killers please stop them and contact the vet immediately.

Thank you for using PetCoach. If Fraya is having vomiting and diarrhea I would recommend a visit to an emergency clinic today. Black colored stools or diarrhea could indicate bleeding in the G.I. tract. The vet will perform a physical exam, then discuss further diagnostics or treatments they would recommend based on her condition. Good luck I hope she’s feeling better soon.
