Cat has been experiencing left hip pain. Not limping anymore but does not like that area touched or that leg extended. Vet initially said strain. After further xrays has diagnosed degenerative condition. Recommends FHO surgery totalling 3200$. What do you think about the xrays? (I have more) Is surgery necessary? What can I do as an alternative to surgery until I can afford it? (Am a student, pay for own tuition so any advice on this would be so appreciated)

• Hi my cat was in a car accident and suffered a grade 2 tall pull injury and had his tail amputated after a couple weeks as it did not regain function. He has since had a constipation. • Higgins started making the awful crunch noise this past November. He’s only making it when he’s sleepy, sleeping, or waking up. I thought it was teeth grinding but to be safe I brought him to the vet and they checked his teeth, said he has a little bit of plaque but over all looked good.
