We’ve noticed our recently adopted dog starting to chase his tail several times today, which is a first. We’ve also noticed a spot on both sides of his tail with no hair and some sort of black possible scab? Not sure if he caused this by tail chasing/nipping or the tail situation is causing the chasing. Are you able to tell what this is?? Thank you!

• Higgins started making the awful crunch noise this past November. He’s only making it when he’s sleepy, sleeping, or waking up. I thought it was teeth grinding but to be safe I brought him to the vet and they checked his teeth, said he has a little bit of plaque but over all looked good.
